NICL is recruiting for a total of 266 posts, divided into Generalist and Specialist categories.

NICL Administrative Officer Recruitment 2024-25: Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Candidates must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intent to settle permanently, or
- A person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries (Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, etc.) with the intent to settle permanently, provided they hold a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.
Educational Qualifications (as on May 1, 2025)
Doctors (MBBS)
- MBBS/MD/MS or PG Medical Degree from a recognized university, or equivalent foreign degree recognized by the National Medical Commission.
- Valid registration from the National Medical Commission or any State Medical Council (as applicable for Allopathy) as on the date of the scheduled interview.
Legal
- Graduate/Post Graduate in Law from a recognized university.
- At least 60% marks in either degree examination (55% for SC/ST candidates).
Finance
- Chartered Accountant (ICAI) or Cost Accountant (ICWA), or
- B.Com/M.Com from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in either degree examination (55% for SC/ST candidates).
Information Technology
- BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Computer Science/Information Technology or MCA from a recognized university.
- At least 60% marks in either degree examination (55% for SC/ST candidates).
Automobile Engineering
- BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in any branch of Engineering with a Diploma in Automobile Engineering (at least one-year duration) from a recognized university.
- At least 60% marks in either degree examination (55% for SC/ST candidates).
Generalist Officers
- Graduate/Post Graduate in any stream from a recognized university.
- At least 60% marks in either degree examination (55% for SC/ST candidates).
Notes:
- Qualifications must be from UGC/AICTE-approved institutions.
- Candidates must possess valid mark sheets/degree certificates as of May 1, 2025.
- Percentage calculations should include all subjects, ignoring fractions (e.g., 59.99% is less than 60%).
Age Limit (as on May 1, 2025)
- Minimum Age: 21 years (born on or after May 2, 1995)
- Maximum Age: 30 years (born on or before May 1, 2004)
- Age relaxation will be applicable for reserved category candidates.
NICL Administrative Officer Recruitment 2024-25: Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of three stages:
1. Phase I: Preliminary Examination
- Type: Online, objective (multiple-choice)
- Duration: 60 minutes
- Marks: 100
- Sections:
- English Language (30 marks, 20 minutes, English only)
- Reasoning Ability (35 marks, 20 minutes, English/Hindi)
- Quantitative Aptitude (35 marks, 20 minutes, English/Hindi)
- Candidates must qualify in each section. Approximately 15 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for Phase II.
2. Phase II: Main Examination
- Type: Online, objective (250 marks) + Descriptive (30 marks, qualifying in nature)
- Duration: 3 hours (objective) + 30 minutes (descriptive)
- Objective Test (Generalists):
- Reasoning (50 marks, 40 minutes)
- English Language (50 marks, 40 minutes)
- General Awareness (50 marks, 30 minutes)
- Computer Knowledge (50 marks, 30 minutes)
- Quantitative Aptitude (50 marks, 40 minutes)
- Objective Test (Specialists):
- Same as Generalists, plus an additional test on technical/professional knowledge (50 marks, 35 minutes)
- Descriptive Test: English Language (Essay, Précis, Comprehension; 30 marks, 30 minutes)
- Candidates must secure minimum marks in each section and overall to qualify for the interview. Descriptive test marks are not counted for final selection.
3. Interview
- Shortlisted candidates from Phase II will be called for interviews at selected centers.
- The final merit list will be based on the combined score of the Main Examination (80% weightage) and Interview (20% weightage).
- In case of a tie, preference is given based on higher interview marks, followed by seniority in age.
Note: A penalty of one-fourth marks will be deducted for wrong answers in objective tests (except English Language section). Biometric data (thumb impression and photograph) will be captured during Phase II for verification.

- Fees are non-refundable and must be paid online.

- Left thumb impression (black or blue ink, 240x240 pixels, 20-50 KB)
- Handwritten declaration: “I, (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.” (800x400 pixels, 50-100 KB)
Note: Candidates must apply for only one discipline. Multiple applications will result in only the latest valid application being considered, with fees for others forfeited.
